Cynthia Matzat designed this WebQuest for her mother's first grade class. She has a one computer classroom with access to the Internet. Because many of her students are still beginning readers, the WebQuesst was intended to be read by the teacher to the class. She used a scan converter to hook up her television to the computer so the students could all see the screen. To complete the individual activities in the process, the computer was used as a center, and the students took turns completing the different activities.
This activity could easily be adapted for use in other grades, where the students are capable of reading the information on their own.
